This 3-day safari includes visits to some of the most spectacular game viewing regions of Tanzania; Lake Manyara National Park, Ngorongoro Crater and Tarangire National Park. This package has been designed to offer the excitement of a wildlife safari experience in a short period of time and it can be organized on its own, or can be added on to a Kilimanjaro package.
On this 6-day safari, you get to explore three splendid national parks. Explore Tarangire National Park, known for its large population of elephant, baobob trees and lovebirds while the vast Serengeti plains evoke a sense of wonder and deep respect for the animal kingdom. Journey through the savanna in search of stealthy predators and try to spot other game in the gigantic Ngorongoro Crater.
This is a trip that will reward those with an appetite for excitement and an appreciation for nature.
DAY 1 :: Arusha
Arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport, where you’ll be met by our representative. Transfer to Arusha for lunch or dinner, depending on your arrival time. Meet and greet your guide, who will sit with you for a trip briefing before your departure the following morning.
DAY 2 :: Arusha – Tarangire National Park
Following an early breakfast, we will drive to Tarangire NP to arrive in time for a short game drive before lunch at one of the park’s picnic sites. The park is probably one of the best places in East Africa to watch elephants. The park is also the habitat for Masai giraffes, various gazelles and antelopes, buffalos, lions, leopards, baboons and more than a hundred different types of birds. After lunch we will continue with a full afternoon game drive. Tonight we’ll overnight in Karatu.
DAY 3 :: Tarangire National Park – Serengeti National Park
This morning after breakfast, on our way to Serengeti we will stop and visit one of the Maasai Cultural Bomas in the Ngorongoro Highlands. Here we will meet the chief of the village and learn about the culture and history of the Maasai. As we continue to Serengeti, we will make an other stop at Oldupai Gorge, where the English couple, Louis and Mary Leak, pioneered archaeological excavation work. In the sixties, some of the earliest archaeological deposits of human evolution were found here and a small museum (visit optional) reports these discoveries. We enter the park at Naabi Gate. The name “Serengeti” comes from the Maasai word “Siringet” and means “endless plains”. It is undoubtedly the most famous wildlife sanctuary in the world and is unequalled for its natural beauty. It also has the greatest concentration of game anywhere. We will head for an afternoon game drive before driving to our overnight accommodation at a nearby campsite or lodge depending on your preference.
DAY 4 :: Serengeti National Park
Today we will have a optional early morning game drive to witness the sunrise over the savannah and see the plains come to life. We will return for breakfast followed by a full day game drive. After a long day in the park, sundowners will be served before we have our communal dinner and we finish this incredible day with drinks around the fire. Tonight we spend an other night sleeping in the African bush.
DAY 5 :: Serengeti National Park – Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast, we will continue our game drive through the Serengeti National Park as we head towards the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. On the way, we may encounter all the big cats, antelopes, zebras and wildebeest, the Seronera Valley is teeming with wild animals. As we ascend to the crater rim, the views of the caldera are breathtaking. We will spend a night on the crater rim.
DAY 6 :: Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha
After an early breakfast, we will drive down into the caldera, which is the biggest caldera in the world. It supports an immensely diverse wildlife and it’s not unusual to find “The Big Five” (lions, elephants, buffalos, rhinoceros and leopards) within a space of a few hours. After a nearly full day game drive, we begin our drive back to Arusha and depending on your departure time, we’ll take you to your onward flight or to your choice of accommodation.
