We are a Maasai-owned tour operator based in Arusha, Tanzania. Our goal is to plan and personalize every detail of your journey, while always keeping your safety and comfort in mind. wHO WE ARE

Sidai Africa Safaris was founded by Maasai partners with a deep love for Tanzania. Based in Arusha, Tanzania, we aim to bring the fascinating nature and culture of Tanzania to the world one safari at a time.

Sidai Africa's founding partners have combined their professional tourism experience and personal travel experience to create comfortable, safe and eye-opening journeys that anyone can enjoy.

Each of our guides has a minimum of 8 years experience and have trained and worked with the best tour companies in Tanzania. They have an immense amount of local knowledge, are passionate about their country and heritage, and want to share the very best of it with you.

And what's in the name? Sidai means beautiful in the Maa language.

OUR PROMISE

Our staff brings many years of professional and personal travel experience to ensure every booking is handled with excellence and professionalism. Sidai Africa is dedicated to providing quality service and expert knowledge to our clients, from the initial point of contact to the end of their stay--and often long after they have returned home.

OUR CARS

We use 4x4 Land Cruiser safari vehicles on all of our tours. They are outfitted with pop-up roofs, allowing you the best vantage point to view wildlife. Each car accommodates up to 8 people.

RESPONSIBLE TRAVEL

At Sidai Africa we encourage and help our guests to learn about the different peoples of Tanzania. We are always happy to organize visits with local communities. We wholeheartedly subscribe to the philosophy of Michael Palin, who said: “Getting to know more about each other remains one of the most important hopes for the peaceful future of the planet. If we are really to understand each other better, then we need to be reminded to travel carefully and thoughtfully, listening to people along the way and respecting the world we are privileged to travel through." We are also more than happy to coordinate a volunteer position for you, whether its teaching at a school or working on a sustainable farm. We have a wide network of local projects that help communities and we will work very hard to find the perfect match for your skills and interest.

ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT

The quality of the environment, both natural and man-made, is essential to tourism. However, tourism's relationship with the environment is complex. The negative impacts of tourism development can gradually destroy the environmental resources on which it depends. On the other hand, tourism can create beneficial effects by contributing to environmental protection and conservation. It is a way to raise awareness of environmental values and it can serve as a tool to finance protection of natural areas and increase their economic importance.

At Sidai Africa we are acutely aware of the challenges that tourism poses to the fragile ecosystem of Tanzania's National Parks. We deeply care about environmental and wildlife conservation. We tailor each of our tours in a way that we disturb nature and its inhabitants as little as possible. We are determined to leave no physical evidence of our visits but our footprints.

We also believe that income from tourism can be a powerful incentive for conservation.
